The Piper Aztec is a go anywhere, anytime kind of aircraft. It has been used in charter operations in Canada’s north for many years. CFTC operates a 1976 PA-23-250F, C-GOSO. This aircraft is powered by 2 large turbo-charged TIO-540-C1A engines providing 250 horsepower a piece. GOSO is extremely well equipped for multi-IFR training with VOR, DME, ADF and a Garmin 530 GPS coupled with the autopilot. It is also equipped with 6 place oxygen and is fully certified for flight into known icing. This enables CFTC to offer real world training, in a real world charter aircraft, making GOSO the most advanced twin engine aeroplane available for training in Alberta.
