Discovery Flight
Have you ever dreamed of taking control of an airplane and flying it around while looking at the sights from above? Well here is your chance to make that dream a reality.
A discovery flight is a fun local area introductory flight in which you, under supervision by a qualified flight instructor, take control of the aircraft. You get to experience flight from the pilot’s perspective as you move the controls to turn, climb, or descend. Why look out of the tiny window of a 737 when you can experience the full view from the cockpit of the small aircraft you are flying.
Calgary Flight Training Centre offers a variety of discovery flight packages to suit your needs.
Our discovery flights are flown in state-of-the-art, 2 seat, DA20-C1 aircraft.
We have 3 different choices of flights that can be done. A 30 minute flight, a 60 minute flight, or a 90 minute mountain flight.
The prices are as follows including GST:
DA-20-C1 (2 seat)
- 30 min $112.00
- 60 min $185.00
- 90 min $290.00
All flights are subject to rescheduling due to unforeseen circumstances ie. Weather, maintenance. There are also possible weight restrictions due to the aircraft being small.

Diamond DA20-C1 Evolution
- 1/2 hour or 1 hour experiences available
- Two seat aircraft (pilot and passenger)
- Full panoramic view from the cockpit

- 1/2 hour: $94.29
- 1 hour: $159.95
Cessna 172R
- 1/2 or 1 hour experiences available
- Four seat aircraft (pilot and three passengers)*
- Rates:
- 1/2 hour: $119.95
- 1 hour: $209.95
Mountain Discovery Flight
- 1.5 hour experience
- Three passengers welcome*
- Rate: $329.95
*Aircraft weight and balance restrictions may limit the number of passengers able to ride along.
