Instructor Rating
Do you want to help fulfill the flying dreams of others? If so become a flight instructor.
Prerequisites
- Hold a valid Commercial Pilot License
- Must be 18 years of age
- Category 1 Medical
Course Requirements
(Based on minimum Transport Canada requirements)
- 30 hours dual instruction including:
- 5 hours instrument
- 25 hours ground school
- Passing grade on a Transport Canada written exam and flight test
Length of Course
- The instructor rating can take anywhere between 2-6 months to complete depending on whether the student is full-time or part-time
Privileges and Limitations
- The holder of a Class 4 instructor rating may teach students how to fly while under the supervision of a Class 1 or Class 2 instructor
